Brain Mapping-Based Interhemispheric Brain Coordination Exercises and Gerontechnology for Improving Cognitive Function in the Elderly

YeJong Lee

Abstract

This study proposes and investigates the effects of brain-mapping-based bilateral brain coordination exercises for addressing cognitive decline in the elderly. Conducted over 8 weeks, the study involved 23 seniors aged 65 to 80. EEG measurements were used to compare brainwave patterns before and after the exercises. The results showed significant changes in certain brainwave patterns, indicating that the exercises help enhance cognitive function in the elderly. Additionally, the study suggests using technology to monitor the exercises and provide personalized feedback, supporting effective implementation.
