Printed digital storytelling for health

Abstract

We report a design exploration to create printed digital stories for health. These utilise the Next Generation Paper platform from the University of Surrey to create augmented documents with printed hotlinks that are displayed on a nearby smartphone. 15 digital stories from a previous care home project were printed as a photo album and loose photographs with audio, video and text associations. These had different affordances for reading, gifting and display, and are generally more physical and interactive than the original story-films.
