VR exercise game to keep the shoulder self-exercise going

Natsumi Takahashi, Keiko Ishihara

Abstract

In self-exercising at home, the exercise menu is perceived as monotonous repetitive training, which, in addition to the fact that the results of exercise are not visible, reduces motivation to continue. To solve this problem, we created a VR exercise game using an HMD. In addition to having players perform shoulder flexion/extension and adduction/abduction exercises by climbing ladders, rowing boats, wiping walls, etc. in a field, we would like to motivate them with original flower beds that can be cultivated with in-game rewards obtained through daily quests and exercise.
